This is a pool that we just removed to replace with an ADU. The owner decided that the pool was costing a large amount of money for upkeep and maintenance. We are replacing it with a 480 sq. ft. ADU for an extra income source!

Greg Popovich at the State Capitol on October 16, 2017.  He was meeting with one of Senator Wieckowski’s staff to discuss roadblocks that are being created to slow the progress of ADU development in some cities. Progress is being made to patch the holes/loopholes and more legislation will be coming to help with the affordable housing crisis.

ADUs are growing in popularity as many homeowners utilize them to generate revenue. Also though, they provide people with the opportunity to be closer to family, or to help retirees stay in their homes longer. With an ADU, a nurse or caregiver can live in the unit, or the retiree can even live in it, and let their kids live in the house. One customer recently remarked that she was going to live in her ADU and rent out the main house. In the Bay Area, that is not a bad income opportunity!

At Goldbar Builders, we are working tirelessly to solve the affordable housing crisis, and our PATH program will help teachers in a unique way. One of the reasons why we believe so strongly in this program is that the land is already zoned properly, and due to passage of SB 1099 and other recent legislation, building an ADU has never been easier. We have answers to all of your questions, so click on our "Contact" page and request more information today. Not all properties qualify for this program, but our experienced team will walk you through the process and schedule a consultation for you as soon as possible.
