This is an example of one that is almost completed in the historical district of San Jose. We needed to do a historical review to get this one complete and it turned out great! It matches and compliments the historical character of the main house as an ADU should.

Podcast with Senator Wieckowski, City of Santa Clara Planning Commissioner - Yuki Ikezi and Principal Consultant to the Democratic Caucus - Brian Green. Senator Wieckowski is the author of SB 1069 which has allowed us the opportunity to help so many people with ADUs. Commissioner Ikezi is a happy client of Goldbar Builders and proud, new, owner of her very own ADU. We had a blast talking about cities and counties that are making things difficult for ADU development and many other important ADU topics. It will be airing around Thanksgiving time.

On September 20, 2018 Yuki Ikezi (property owner) unveiled her new garage conversion to an ADU and the addition of her new garage. The Mayor of Santa Clara, Lisa Gillmor and Council member Teresa O'Neill came and spoke about the importance of ADUs in our community. Yuki spoke about the process and her positive experience with Goldbar Builders. The event brought over 50 people and none were disappointed in the quality of our work. I heard many wows that night!

Greg Popovich of Goldbar Builders and Larry Stone, Santa Clara County Assessor,  were the guest speakers at the Silicon Valley Chapter of AREAA. Greg talked about current and proposed bills that have encouraged ADU development, and issues surrounding financing, development and construction of ADUs. Larry spoke about the state of the economy in Silicon Valley. Both speakers gave very informative information.

Dave has taken on the role of spearheading our Santa Rosa ADU efforts. We have been asked by many to go and help. You bet we will be there.

This is an example of one of our ADU's with some minor upgrades.

This ADU is almost ready to rent. It went from a money-consuming swimming pool to a money-making asset! Goldbar helped the owner with design, permitting, pool demolishing, site development and finished construction. I will post some interior shots in the next post.

This ADU in San Jose is about 5 weeks old since the swimming pool has been filled. Sheetrock is scheduled this week and completion in 3 weeks. Not all can go this fast, but our goal is to get the units complete and in use. Call us today to get started on your ADU!
